I like this//Poetry Thread

Post by TRC » 15:47:57 Friday, 12 April, 2013

The silence, the emptiness of a dream past
Grows louder with year
With every week
With every day
With every footstep
Regret of a time before grows
An empty cage of what cannot be
The bars are what can
It seems as if the bars cannot move
They cannot
Yet the emptiness grows larger, sucking more
Of sadness it may seem
But it is of something more
Starring into the bars, the cage gives you comfort
For the challenges missed
Yet, also regret for the rewards missed
One can never get the inside of the cage out
Only add into it
Dreams lost, never to be obtained
One often wonders, what if?
Seems to be human spirit, has regret for the answers
It knows how the what if's would be answered
Yet it toys with the emotions
Aspiring. Yet not driving.
The cage is remains empty
Never to be opened

Is peace with oneself
Only achievable once
At death. forever alone

The answer is simple
Fore only then is oneself safe
From oneselves anger

finding peace alive
Is life's greatest mystery
A never ending quest

Waiting in quiet
Sitting on the floor alone
Listening to himself

He finds the answers
To questions he didn't ask
Curious is he

A sign, an omen
He believes that it is fate
Brought him great wisdom

Little does he know
It's just his mind playing tricks
Faith never deferred

Stalking prey like wolves
This human has seen enough
All dogs should be shot

Loneliness at night
Starlight so dull and boring
Shit, beats being dead

You sit there, staring at the wall
Wondering if you should put the last few bricks

One one hand, people are assholes in general
On the other, lots of other people are memorable
This descision is hard to make
We all did it once.
Self exodus, from society seems like the choice.
The last few bricks are placed.

A few years later.
You are driven mad
Not from the lack of people
But your longing of excitement
That the people would bring

Your shrink gives up

Peace inside ones heart
Brings a fear in ones body
A completed soul

Moreover one thinks
Isn't what life is about
I often don't know

But I can tell you
The fear disappears forever
Once you realize this

The shrink one is ironically funny, while the life one has a eerie truth to it.

's the truth. Suicide is not so much as an escape, as it is surrender. We cannot escape. But we can go on.
