Iranian Withdrawal from the NPT

Post by Master of Oblivion » 00:02:40 Monday, 11 December, 2017

Article X

1. Each Party shall in exercising its national sovereignty have the right to withdraw from the Treaty if it decides that extraordinary events, related
to the subject matter of this Treaty, have jeopardized the supreme interests of its country. It shall give notice of such withdrawal to all other parties to the Treaty and to the United Nations Security Council three months in advance. Such notice shall include a statement of the extraordinary events it regards as having jeopardized its supreme interests.
Iran has been attacked by two nuclear powers and the world has done nothing to support us. In response to these threats to our sovereignty Iran no longer believes it is in our interests to be bound by the Nonproliferation Treaty. Existential threats to our existence leads us to believe that exploring nuclear weapons will be necessary for our survival. Iran has been willing to negotiate with other states, yet our overtures have been ignored.

The French government is not surprised that Iran is showing it's true colours and dropped any pretense of being interested in anything other than acquiring nuclear weapons. Not that it abided by the terms of the treaty anyway, as the IAEA confirmed. We hope this move will lead to further action, as it shows Iran is not to be trusted.

Japan must point out that Iranian "negotiation" has consisted solely of making demands, followed by a significant effort to conceal its nuclear programme from IAEA inspectors by moving the weapons programme to Syria. Your nation has done nothing to act in good faith, nor to deal honestly, and nor to preserve peace. We urge Iran to reverse this withdrawal and submit to international law, for the present course that your government has chosen will lead to nothing but further horrors being unleashed upon humanity through uncontrolled proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Germany calls upon upon Iran to understand that nuclear proliferation is not a defence of one's nation but only a furtherance of the chances of a nuclear doomsday be unleashed upon us all. The potential for destruction far outstrips their use as a deterrent, and will only make future disarmament talks more difficult.

Russia woudl Urge Iran to return to compliance with the Nuclear Non Proliforation agreement. We beleive it is a better road to a less destructive place for humanity.
