"Of Ymer's flesh
The earth was made,
And of his sweat the seas;
Rocks of his bones,
Trees of his hair,
And the sky of his skull;
But of his eyebrows
The blithe powers
Made Midgard for the sons of men.
Of his brains
All the melancholy
Clouds were made.
"

- Gylfaginning, the Tricking of Gylfi.

Codex of the Lost

The Codex of the Lost will expand, as they explore the world around them.

____

The Stars
—The Stars of this world are clearly different from the ones back home.
—Not a single recognisable constellation has been seen.
—One set of stars is particularly noticeable: A row of five, like a vast Orion's Belt.
—No moon or other bodies have been spotted yet.

The Weather
—It being night, nothing can be said of the daytime weather.
—The temperatures are cool, but not much more than a Nordic spring night.

The Flora
—No plants have been spotted yet. The beach, as far as anyone has dared go inland, is wholly barren.
—Further inland can be spotted a treeline, seeming to contain both vast timbers and lowly brush.

The Fauna
—No animals have been spotted yet. The shallow waters seem wholly barren, much like a Baltic shore.
