Parallax Effect

Postby Parallax » 22:39:40 Wednesday, 24 June, 2015

The cleverest title I could come up with without spending 2 seconds thinking of one.

Hey there! I'm Parallax, and I found this place last night when I decided to search for a small forum that plays mafia and saw this place linked on a TVTropes page that came up. Then I got here and no mafia. :(

Let's see, some stuff about myself... I'm 20something, I'm female, I'm American, I'm an art major (top kek I know) and I play forum games to avoid dealing with my life. I also enjoy hosting games probably more than playing, but I probably won't host any here unless I get a good feel for how you guys do things. I know different places have different rules/standards/traditions/time-concerns.

And uhh... that's all I can think to share. AMA or whatever I guess.

Also hi

Hey, welcome!

You've already found the IRC, I saw, so swing by often, most/all of us circulate onto there at one time or another. Whereabouts in the US are you from? I think the slight majority is American here? Though recently us Europeans might've taken a slight lead.

(And that's a fair point, we should totally get a Mafia game going...)

Welcome to the slightly-less-active-these-days madhouse. IRC is a good shout as Huo said. Though Huojin is also correct in the transatlantic pendulum swinging back and forth somewhat, so depending on the timezone either it'll be utterly dead or oddly busy.

Yeah, I wasn't aware advertising ever took off, let alone to Tropes of all places.

I don't remember anyone else ever coming of their own accord without being brought someone else. That's actually genuinely impressive.

Thanks guys again! (Also sorry for vanishing for a bit. Busy weekend!)

I like looking for places that are sort of off the wall with established communities, so this seemed to be a good fit. I find a lot of larger/open/etc forums get really strict and there ends up being mod drama and a below-the-surface tension as everyone tries to be nice to fit in. Smaller places seem to be better at finding a balance between the users and the zeitgeist of the forums, so this just seemed right (even if me being busy made it seem like I didn't seem interested)

we haven't had any drama, other than minor personal disagreements, for like three years. so there's that.

Hello I am back because I just found the bookmark again. Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans! (I don't actually know/remember if you all are majority American or otherwise. Hi anyway)

I'm sure you all deeply missed my presence. Anyway what's up

Hey man! We're probably about half-American, so I'm sure they'll appreciate and reciprocate the good wishes :P

What've you been up to?
