If you want South America, Brazil is a good choice, first, it has a reasonable economy (once compared to its neighbours) and you are obviosuly the most powerful nation in South America (especially with the imminent break up of Gran Colombia), meaning no one will really mess up with you. Your only troubles would be internal Civil strife and revolts.

RinKou wrote:Dunno if I'll have the time to join just yet, but wanted to point out that Hokkaido is still Ezochi at this time. While there's not any real consensus to when Japan fully takes control of the island, the only Japanese settlement is a trading post currently on the southern-most tip.

The Ryukyu Kingdom, meanwhile, is still a dual-tributary state to both China and the Satsuma clan, and isn't formally (and forcefully) annexed until 1872.

This makes literally no difference, since there's no way the game will go long enough for Japan to ever be considered for play, but you know.

Thanks RinKou, ill edit that little mistake and have the corrected map in the first game update. Feel free to join the game at any moment.
