KSP 0.18

So we know KSP 0.18 is out. Now to talk about mods to use.

Just a heads up Aegis, there's a beta version for MechJeb apparently out. It seems to work pretty well, but you'll need to grab, say, the AR202 case MechJeb part from the old version of it for 0.17, since there's only the plug-in bit released.

Wonder if there's updates for the demo. I've managed to orbit the moon with vanilla demo parts with a reasonably small rocket. Now to figure how to get back.

If you're in the Moon's sphere of influence, burn so that your apoapsis is far enough away from the Mun until you reach Munar escape velocity. You'll get caught in Kerbin's sphere of influence and you can return to the planet.

As for old mods, there are loads. Look through this forum. Anything earlier on with 0.13 listed will work. And sometimes more recent mods will show their version history which will work with 0.13. Anything with plugins doesn't work for 0.13 though.

You should get someone to buy you the full version for Christmas. Or ask Aegis or myself nicely :3
