Just so everybody is in the loop, on the 30th of November Clancy registered an account. Now I think most people's initial reaction was that Clancy was probably upset over the whole thing and it hasn't been put to a vote yet, but Goofy had a chat with him and apparently such is not the case. I'll let him release the logs if he wants to. Either way, it has me convinced, so I guess I'll be the one to nominate him.

I've enabled re-voting. Just in case.

For the record, I strongly feel that Clancy should be allowed back into our community. The guy always stood up against Sonny and his band of prats. To think he is some how in league with any of these people because he once gave his own money to run Patton is wrong, and should not weigh against him in any discussion.

I voted yes for the return of an old friend, he is kind of like that uncle you don't really know but have fond memories of.

Do I need to? I judge people preemptively every day, and nobody ever complains.

The obvious reason to keep him out - the suspicions of Gesar & others (recounted to me by Huojin) that Clancy is here to fuck shit up.

We could always keep him on a short leash. If he is a Patton spy, ban him. We could give him a chance though.

I'm pretty sure it's his email address. And from the logs, he writes like clancy.

It was more of a concern than a suspicion. One that was quickly dispelled upon seeing his explanation. But yes. I support activating his account.

I like clancy. If he's gonna be cool, I'm all for it. If not, I'd like to avoid more drama.

Having seen the logs (which I encourage Goofy to release since at the moment it feels like we're withholding some super-secret admin evidence), I'm in favour of activating his account. Clancy had already gone into a hiatus on Patton when I arrived, so I haven't had much to do with him, but what I've heard is that he was generally against Sonny being, well, Sonny, and his messages with Goofy reflect that. So, yeah, it's a yes from me.

Before he left Patton on good terms, Clancy regularly participated in games, handled administrative positions without incident, and was generally the kind of guy I'd like to have around.

Also, just a thought. This is basically the last person from Patton we haven't talked about (Discounting possible re-votes or more future sudden reappearances) so we probably don't need to put a policy in place at this point, but how should we end this vote? Call it a day if it hits 20? Leave it run for 3 days (To avoid a repeat of the SKA vote which went on for over a week, and he wasn't still checking in by the time he got approved) and go with the simple majority? It's no longer practical to try to go for a majority of all forum members one way or the other, since at least 20 members on this forum haven't been active for more than a week*.

* - This is a guesstimate. On that note I am realising for the first time that members cannot easily sort the member list by time of last activity, but I know such a feature exists having used it. Could an admin look into that?
