Bringing in new members

More or less what it says on the tin.

I suppose this is a tangential note, but I thought it might be best to post this here instead of making a new thread.

Has anybody informed Clancy that his account was activated? It's been 11 days and he hasn't put in an appearance.

Yes, he has been informed, and yes, I had noticed that.

For the record he hasn't been around a ton on Patton lately, so it might just be being busy or something.

Nothing against Savino, but there should at least be a vote on these things. We need a poll for how we're going to deal with new members, how much should guests see, and whether or not root account info should be public. It would be presumptuous of me to make them, since maybe y'all changed he rules on me without my knowing, so I rather post here to see if anyone adresses it.

I went ahead and deleted the page of off-topic banter so everyone knows where this conversation left off.

I don't see the value in voting yay/nay on new members with no previous history to consider. If you have a reason to believe Savino would be a controversial addition to the community, why not address that now instead of calling for a vote?

A poll for it's own sake would simply be reaffirming whether or not members believe we should bring in new people, which I believe we've already covered in great detail.

If you're after someone to vouch for Savino, I'll vouch for him. He hangs out on #molotov most of the time anyway and is friendly and seems pretty cool. Not really sure why we're having this discussion, though.

So we don't really have anywhere else to put this, so here'll do as well as anywhere:

Apparently Merdy is still nuts and some citizens of the Democratic People's Socialist Hoxhaist Republic of Merdystan would like refuge.

I think I'm right in saying people are just allowed to join now?

I for one vote to welcome our lost brethren from the fallen Democratic People's Socialist Hoxahist Republic of Merdystan into the Supreme Co-Operative Molotovan Republic, on the condition that they are immediately placed in anti-anti-revisionist reeducation camps.

I think Litos may have signed up already. Not sure, but the admins should check it out. He said he'd PM a list to the admins once he's approved of other usernames to approve.

Thanks for that, it's hard sweeping through all the spam accounts to get to legit joiners.

Oh, and welcome to Molotov!
